Add a Custom Data Category
Use a data category when your forms have fields outside the defaults, or when the same kind of field appears under different labels.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Category | What kind of field this is (e.g. Phone Number, Company Size). |
| Value | What FormTester should fill in. |
| Matching labels | Form field labels that should use this value. List as many as you need, separated by commas. Label matching is not case-sensitive. |
Steps
Go to Settings → Test Data.
Under Add new data category, enter:
Category — e.g.
Company SizeValue — e.g.
50-100Matching labels — e.g.
Company size, Number of employees, Headcount, Team size
Click Add category.
The category appears under My categories, with matching labels shown as tags. You can change its value later and save like a default override.
Example
| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| Category | Referral Source |
| Value | Organic search |
| Matching labels | How did you hear about us, Referral source, Lead source |
Prefer labels as they appear on the form. Include common variants so wording differences still match. Label matching is not case-sensitive.
